I’ve been liking borders lately. I first took interest when I saw James Jean’s work quite a while ago. His illustrations and paintings would make great use of borders and the geometry would make a beautiful contrast against his fluid style.

I drew these some time ago for another project that never quite grew on me. I’m hoping to draw something inside soon, the emptiness always reminds me of my tendency to leave things unfinished. And although this is not a pleasant feeling, sometimes it’s those things you put off for so long that end up becoming the best pieces. Hopefully that’s the case for these empty borders.
